Ghosts: A Haunted Beach House

Readers, here’s a first-hand account of experiences at a haunted beach house – I couldn’t give you a link to the story itself alone, so I’ve copied here, crediting the writer – from Quora.

About 3 years ago, I was staying at a beach vacation house with a friend. It was a beautiful, large, well-appointed space in which to enjoy the ocean views and relax…but the place had a creepy vibe to it.

While I was asleep one night, I dreamed that I was drowning. I woke up gasping and felt like someone had their hands around my neck. The sensation was so real. I felt as though something was trying to enter my body with force, and that my body expelled this foreign entity…I was 34 at the time, and had never in my life had night terrors, or experienced anything like this.

The next day, I convinced myself that it had just been a dream, and went about my day. I went to a Christmas party that evening with the same friend at a different beach house that was several miles down the road…

There had been some drinking going on at the party, and not wanting to drive, we stayed the night and offered to cleanup the next day. Everyone else left for the evening to go home or to other parties.

At around 2 a.m. I heard 3 knocks at the door. I felt groggy. I heard 3 knocks again and decided to check it out. Had someone forgotten their keys or something? There were large windows which overlooked the door, when I opened it nobody was there. There was nobody walking away. There was nobody in the driveway…

The following day, we went back to the vacation house we had rented for the week. I started to feel really creeped out being there, but convinced myself I was being paranoid.

After dinner, we BOTH heard someone walk up the stairs to the front door and knock 3 times. But, when we opened the door nobody was there.

We heard knocking at home a few times for about a month. Then, all of a sudden it just stopped.

Makes me wonder to this day what it was…
