My favourite ghostly comedy motion picture is the 1935 film The Ghost Goes West with Robert Donat.

The plot is a wealthy American businessman buys a Scottish castle and takes the whole place back to America with him.

The Scottish ghost haunting the castle (whose demise was caused by a cannonball falling on the haystack where he was making out with a lovely Scottish lassie instead of actually fighting the English at Culloden) goes along with the place.
